Create and open a sandbox

How creation works

Sandbox creation is not immediate. When you submit a sandbox name, Nostate inserts the record and queues a provisioning operation.

New sandboxes start in the `building` status with the `building_page` runtime mode until provisioning completes.

Steps

Open the Sandboxes page after login and submit the create form.

• Enter a sandbox name.
• Submit the create action.
• Wait for the queued operation to finish.
• Use the live thumbnail or live URL to open the public sandbox.
• Use the `Admin` button to open `/upmin/` on the sandbox origin.

Important details

Each user starts with one free sandbox and one custom domain in the default baseline. Creating more sandboxes requires higher entitlements.

The public sandbox and the sandbox admin are separate surfaces on the same sandbox origin. The live site is the public runtime. `/upmin/` is the sandbox admin shell.
